Wreck (2022), Episode 4 – The Sacramentum Slasher

Jamie, Oscar Kennedy (“School’s Out Forever”, “Ladhood (TV)”), is following Sam, Louis Boyer (“The Ledge”, “Outside the Wire”), but manages to lose him in an innocuous corridor after he vanishes.

Lauren, Amber Grappy (“The Baby (TV)”), is trying to find Jerome, Diego Andres (“The Least (Short)”), as he’s been missing for a while now, but he isn’t anywhere, well, he’s somewhere, but not somewhere she’s going to be able to find him.

Jamie follows Sam into the chapel and Sam tells all, but not quite what Jamie was expecting. He says he was in love with his sister, ready to leave his wife and child for her but she got spooked, went a bit crazy.

He leaves Jamie with a bag of stuff from HR, Pippa’s records that should confirm what he’s told Jamie. However he’s seen by his boss Karen, Harriet Webb (“Medusa Deluxe”, “Tomo (Short)”), on the CCTV.

Jamie and Vivian, Thaddea Graham (“Doctor Who (TV)”, “Curfew (TV)”), break into Pippa’s former cabin and Jamie remembers her calling him, really wanting to speak, but he didn’t. Then they find something, a map of the ship on the carpet and then a list of names hidden in the fire detector.

Jamie meets up with Sam to run the names by him, but he doesn’t know them. Vivian meanwhile meets with Lily, Ramanique Ahluwalia (“Catch a Butcher (Short)”, “Heart’s Ease (Short)”), who has snuck into the crew area to try and make up with her after a fallout.

Jamie and Vivian break into HR to see what happened to the names on the list. The two crossed out names on the list are down as ‘absconded’ and Jerome’s name is on the list with the same. Jamie meets with Sam to ask him what he knows, which doesn’t go well for him.

A quick fire episode now we’re on the home stretch to the end. Perhaps, after all, some of the earlier red herrings weren’t so red after all…Have you figured out what’s going on yet? Does it all feel a little familiar? Those of you with Netflix may think so.
