This time we see Pippa, Jodie Tyack (“The Window (TV)”, “Agatha Raisin (TV)”), picking up the pills to be sold onboard. The annoying, chewing, officer Beaker, Warren James Dunning (“Damned (Short)”, “Work (Short)”), stops her when she goes back onboard. I think he’s meant to be the scary one, in charge of everything bad on the ship, but he’s about as scary as a wet fish.
Jamie, Oscar Kennedy (“School’s Out Forever”, “Ladhood (TV)”), manages to speak to Sophia, Alice Nokes (“The Spanish Princess (TV)”, “Ted Lasso (TV)”). She tells him there’s a detective on route but she won’t speak to him. However, when a crew member passes out, a ship-wide search is ordered, which Jamie and Vivian, Thaddea Graham (“Doctor Who (TV)”, “Curfew (TV)”), don’t seem to realise means Cormac, Peter Claffey (“Bad Sisters (TV)”, “Harry Wild (TV)”), might be found.
Olly, Anthony Rickman (“Enola Holmes”), helps Jamie with his tattoo and is just about to get it on when the officers’ search interrupts them. Vivian meanwhile is sent to first class to deliver some food which luckily happens to be Lily’s, Ramanique Ahluwalia (“Catch a Butcher (Short)”, “Heart’s Ease (Short)”), cabin, the woman she likes.
When the officers turn over Olly’s room they reveal a balaclava which Jamie recognises and snatches. Detective Martinez arrives on the ship. Jamie and Vivian manage to speak to her and tell her to see the body. However, they struggle to convince Sophia to speak to her.
Sophia tells them that the officers should deal to staff whilst the Filipino’s deal with the crew, but the officers got greedy and that’s why she was attacked. Jamie says he’ll get rid of the drugs if she’ll go to the police, will she keep her end of the bargain up?
Olly finds Jamie and confesses to scaring Sophia. Then the Filipino mafia arrive and it’s not the man who gave Jamie the tattoo who is in charge. They learn the police woman is leaving the ship.
Cormac, the real Cormac, finds his ex-girlfriend and makes up with her, but also manages to find out who the tattoo belongs to that Jamie’s been searching for. Come the end, there’s a nice gruesome death to satisfy those horror fans amongst you.
Are we any closer to knowing the truth? Or is it more red herrings? Only time will tell, but I’d be surprised if things have been revealed only halfway through the series.
At this stage in the game you get the impression that something is happening we haven’t quite been let in on. There’s hints of cover ups, people knowing more than they are letting on.
