Physical – Episode 6, Let’s Get It On Tape

Bunny, Della Saba (“Ralph Breaks The Internet”, “Zootropolis”), takes a look at some of the footage that Sheila, Rose Byrne (“I Am Mother”, “Peter Rabbit”), and Tyler, Lou Taylor Pucci (“American Horror Story (TV)”, “A-X-L”), shot.

Despite her initial scepticism, she actually likes it and decides that Sheila’s idea has some legs, preferably lycra clad ones.

The pair begin rehearsing for the video shoot and shopping, with Sheila spending money she doesn’t have on clothes, the set, the space hire. Meanwhile she’s forging the books at home, conning Danny, Rory Scovel (“Robbie (TV)”, “Harley Quinn (TV)”), and Jerry, Geoffrey Arend (“Madam Secretary (TV)”, “Body Of Proof (TV)”), that they have more to spend then they do.

She does manage to get through the meeting between Danny, Tyler and Jerry though, and the shoot is a triumph, a bit too much of a triumph though as the pair think the video is so good, it deserves a bigger advertising campaign then they thought.

To get the space that Sheila is using for her new fitness videos she had to pay a visit to John Breem, Paul Sparks (“House Of Cards (TV)”, “Waco (TV)”). Primarily sparked because he a) paid for the video that slandered Danny and b) as he’s given space in the shopping mall to Danny’s main rival in the campaign.

She convinces him that he needs to provide both candidates with the same opportunity, hence how she takes the office space he provides, and uses it for the fitness videos.

Greta, Dierdre Friel (“New Amsterdam (TV)”, “Little Boxes”), offers Sheila an afternoon tea with her friends to discuss makeup.

Being as sceptical as she is, Sheila doesn’t buy any of the makeup saleswoman’s spiel and instead, takes the opportunity to show her fitness video and flog some to Greta’s friends.

Greta, not being stupid, puts one and one together and figures out that Sheila has taken her husbands camcorder. Sheila isn’t able to deny it, but uses the video tape she found in the camera as the reason she didn’t come clean.

She hands the video to Greta, advising her she didn’t make it, her husband did. She tells Sheila to leave as she wipes away a tear.

Physical is the latest TV foray from Apple TV+, or whichever way round that is, and is from producer Annie Weisman who brought us “Desperate Housewives” and the “About A Boy” series.

Directorial duties go to Stephanie Laing (“I’m Sorry (TV)”, “Made For Love (TV)”) with Lex Edness (“Dirty John (TV)”, “High Cuisine (TV)”), on writing duties.
