Chucky – Episode 7, Twice The Grieving, Double The Loss

We Got The Beat

21st December 2021

The end is nigh for season one of Chucky as we hit the penultimate episode and we kick things off at Bree’s, Lexa Doig (“Arrow (TV)”, “Continuum (TV)”), funeral.

It all gets a bit tense when Junior, Teo Briones (“Wind River”, “Ratched (TV)”), decides Jake Wheeler, Zackary Arthur (“Mom and Dad”, “The 5th Wave”), is to blame for all of this and punches him.

Dad Logan, Devon Sawa (“Disturbing the Peace”, “The Fanatic”), stops it just as a screeching car arrives and out gets Tiffany Valentine, Jennifer Tilly (“Family Guy (TV)”, “Monsters, Inc.”), walks right up to Logan and kisses him.

Andy Barclay, Alex Vincent (“Child’s Play”, “Curse of Chucky”), meanwhile ditches his friend Kyle, Christine Elise (“Cult of Chucky”, “BH90210 (TV)”), for reasons best known to him alone.

Devon Evans, Bjorgvin Arnarson (“The Seventh Day”, “Family Time (TV)”), reveals he’s most likely going to end up in foster care as his aunt can’t take care of him forever. He also says he doesn’t want to see Jake again, too painful, which is a kick when Jake has just revealed he only stayed in the town for Devon.

Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif who’s always done the Chucky voice, meanwhile is busy with Junior, convincing him that his dad deserves to die, along with ex-girlfriends and cousins. It doesn’t take much to convince Junior.

Jake decides to run away, maybe it would be better for everyone if he wasn’t around but whilst at the bus station he sees a delivery driver with a Good Guy Doll and buys it off him. He takes it to Lexy Cross, Alyvia Alyn Lind (“Daybreak (TV)”, “Future Man (TV)”), as they try to figure out what to do next.

Lexy tries to call Devon but he’s not picking up and they find out that both the doll and Devon were going/are at the same address…Charles Lee Ray’s old house.

Inside the house we see Devon breaking in and freeing the older Charles Lee Ray/Nica Pierce/Chucky, Fiona Dourif (“Tenet”, “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (TV)”), who is still tied to the chair, left by Tiffany.

However, it isn’t Nica tied to the chair anymore, it’s Chucky. When Devon wakes he’s now tied to the chair, surrounded by Good Guy Dolls, just as the one that’s with Jake and Lexy, that seemed like a normal doll, suddenly springs to life.

The penultimate episode and things are lining up for the big showdown which would seem to suggest world domination from Chucky with a little help from Junior and Tiffany and who knows who else is in on the whole thing.
