Running Eagle (Short Movie) Review

An American Indian girl goes on the run across the frozen Great Plains, fighting freezing temperatures and men who want to take advantage, to get home to Blackfeet Country.

Taken from the novel Dakota by Gwen Florio, writer and director Konrad Tho Fiedler brings us this stark tale with Devery Jacobs (Rhymes for Young Ghouls, The Blanketing) as the main girl.

The camera work and sound are all great, capturing the freezing temperatures as the girl flees her home country, ends us becoming a slave and then runs away from that to get home.

If I’m honest I’m totally sure why she left home in the first place. She did seem to get upset about a buffalo being killed so that may have been it, seems a little weak in my own personal opinion, but otherwise a great short film.
