Right. Well. Umm…Where to start, where to start? Well…no, not there. There’s this one bit…no not there either. Let’s start with the premise, that should straighten things out:
An independent movie director, Angel Connell (“Stocking Stuffers (Short)”, “Meaningful Murders (Short)), in the middle of a crowdfunding campaign fends off a variety of malevolent individuals who seek to steal his ultimate crowdfunding perk – a Donald Trump fetish doll.
No, no that hasn’t helped at all has it? Raiders Of The Hidden Donald Trump Fetish Doll is bizarre, I mean, the title alone should have told you that, but it’s really very odd. Now, I quite like odd, odd can be good, but I’m just so confused as to what I’ve actually watched that it is just odd.
The short is Connell, stood on one side of the camera, very obviously reading from a script on the other side, as various groups of people appear on the other side, in between the lights going out and some disaster sound effects, all of whom want to get their hands on his Fetish Doll.
That’s it. That’s the movie. He tells each and every one of them that they can have it if they stump up the money in his crowdfunding campaign and each time they try to kill him. I just don’t even know where to go with any of this.
And the doll? Well, it’s more a voodoo style doll, something from a horror film, and you only see it for a short period, at the beginning.
I feel like what I’ve just watched is a very clever crowdfunding video for a bigger movie that I’m not aware of, or a crowdfunding campaign that has actually got lost in the making of this short film. I’m really not sure, I need to go and lay down for a minute, hopefully not dream of Donald Trump Fetish Dolls.
