Just Not For Me

30th January 2012

I’m sorry to say I was always sceptical of the hype surrounding this movie as it was distributed in the US by the Weinstein Company, known, if for nothing else, for creating an almighty buzz about their movies come Oscar time.

It’s taken me a while to get round to watching it and I just couldn’t get into it. The dog is the best thing in it but for me it wasn’t enough to save what I thought was just a gimmick.

You can pretty much tell what the actors are saying as they exagerate everything and towards the camera. There’s a score, which just irked me, running through the film.

The acting is good though, it’s a silent film so you’d expect it to be really, it would suck if they couldn’t act.

I can see why people like this film but it just wasn’t for me but a nice try.
