Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Reviewed: 20th October 2012

Well. Not really sure what to say here. I mean. This is. Well. It’s…um…well it’s an interesting take on history!

Timur Bekmambetov takes directing duties with a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote Dark Shadows and is writing Beetlejuice 2 (FFS!).

Benjamin Walker plays Abe with Dominic Cooper playing his vampire ‘teacher’ if you like. The story is one of revenge, in a nutshell. Abe sees his parents get killed by a vampire and tries to go after the man who killed his parents and…oh I can’t even be arsed telling you. It’s Abraham Lincoln killing vampires for fucks sake – what are you expecting?

There’s lots of biting, evil eyes, edges towards points of history that they try to make out are down to vampires vs humans.

This isn’t a good film, though oddly it did nearly double its budget so who knows what will happen in the future? Margaret Thatcher: Zombie Killer? Probably.
